Final Project

As some of you may know, I will be taking an animation course starting this fall. I opted to take two classes online before campus classes start in October. I just finished my Drawing and Perspective class and will soon be starting Colour Theory.

For my final project, I had to chose two themes out of interior spaces, exterior spaces, still life and portraiture. I chose interior spaces and still life. I also had to incorporate other elements from the class such as perspective, value and texture. What I drew is a corner of my basement.

This is the first art class I've ever taken. I never took any classes like this in high school because I was in French Immersion and it wouldn't fit into my schedule.

I am really proud with the way this turned out. I spent many hours on it (about 8?) and put all my effort into it. I know I don't normally post this kind of artwork, but I like it so much I just had to post it!

I used graphite pencils (HB, 2B, 4B, 6B and a bit of 7B) and a tortillon to blend. It is drawn on an 18x24 inch drawing pad, but I drew the scene to be 12x18 inches.
